Chun-Li (/ tʃ ʌ n ˈ l iː / ⓘ; Japanese: チュン・リー, Hepburn: Chun-Rī) is a character in Capcom's Street Fighter video game series. She first appeared in Street Fighter II: The World Warrior in 1991 and is the first female playable character to appear in a fighting game to gain mainstream recognition.
The Street Fighter team is assembled, and Chun-Li is the first to confront Bison. The Warrior King magically appears, and fights Bison's minions with Chun-Li's help. The two quickly fall in love until another vortex appears, and the Warrior King is forced to leave Chun-Li forever.
Along the way, Bison sees Chun-Li and Guile warning Dee Jay about the monitor cyborgs and destroying one, and subsequently sends Vega to New York to kill Chun-Li.
