Yuelu District (simplified Chinese: 岳麓区; traditional Chinese: 嶽麓區; pinyin: Yuèlù qū) is one of six urban districts of the prefecture-level city of Changsha, the capital of Hunan Province, China. It is the 4th most populous district (after Heshan, Dingcheng and Yueyanglou Districts) in Hunan.
The Yuelu Academy (simplified Chinese:岳麓书院, pinyin: yuè lù shū yuàn) is one of the four famous academies in ancient China. It is located at the foot of Yuelu Mountain. As one of the oldest academy in the world, the ancient and traditional academies have been fully preserved.
As one of the four most prestigious academies over the last 1000 years in China, Yuelu Academy has been a famous institution of higher learning as well as a centre of academic activities and cultures since it was formally set up during the Northern Song Dynasty. [1] [2] The academy was converted into the Hunan Institute of Higher Learning in 1903.

Ganzi Village (Chinese: 干子 村; pinyin: Gànzǐ Cūn or Chinese: 鉴子村; pinyin: Jiànzǐ Cūn) is a village of Hanpu Subdistrict in Yuelu District, Changsha, China. [1] [2] The village is an enclave of Yuelu District located between Yuhu District of Xiangtan and Ningxiang.
Yunlu Palace (simplified Chinese: 云麓宫; traditional Chinese: 雲麓宮; pinyin: Yúnlù Gōng) is a Taoist temple located on the south side of Yuelu Mountain, in Yuelu District of Changsha, Hunan, China. [1] [2] It was originally built in 1478, but because of war has been rebuilt numerous times since then, with the last major one done in 1976.
Its core area is situated in the west of Changsha on the west shore of the Xiang River, and the north side of Yuelu Mountain Scenic Area. [ 1 ] In 2016, the total planned area of CSHTZ is 140 km 2 (54 sq mi). [ 2 ]
