From this point, SR 2 is a four-lane divided highway. SR 2 heads northeast from LaPorte to Rolling Prairie where it meets US 20. Here, US 20 and SR 2 switch alignments at a roundabout interchange; US 20 follows the north and west legs of the interchange, while SR 2 follows the south and east legs.
State Road 51 in the U.S. state of Indiana is a north–south route on the state highway system in northwest Indiana. It consists of a route 9.56 miles (15.39 km) [2] long from a point on U.S. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) 4 miles (6.4 km) east of Merrillville and 8 miles (13 km) west of Valparaiso, north to U.S. Route 20 in Gary.
The route varies between one-way, two-lane, and four-lane streets, in Northwest Indiana. From the east side of Gary to west of South Bend, US 20 is a four-lane undivided highway. The route then heads around the west and south sides of South Bend and Elkhart as a four-lane limited access divided highway.

Valparaiso — State Road 149; State Road 130 is concurrent with SR 51 for one mile (1.6 km) south of its terminus on U.S. Route 6. State Road 51 then goes west into downtown Hobart, and State Road 130 goes southeast towards Porter County and Valparaiso. State Road 130 can be considered a local spur of US 30.
