Benitoite (/ b ə ˈ n iː t oʊ aɪ t /) is a rare blue barium titanium cyclosilicate mineral, found in hydrothermally altered serpentinite. It forms in low temperature, high pressure environments typical of subduction zones at convergent plate boundaries .
Natrolite is a tectosilicate mineral species belonging to the zeolite group. It is a hydrated sodium and aluminium silicate with the formula Na 2 Al 2 Si 3 O 10 ·2H 2 O. [4] The type locality is Hohentwiel, Hegau, Germany.
The barium mineral, benitoite (barium titanium silicate), occurs as a very rare blue fluorescent gemstone, and is the official state gem of California.
