There are four districts and 15 individual properties including one National Historic Landmark in the county.
The first Lubbock County Courthouse was used from 1891 to 1916. The second Lubbock County Courthouse remained open until 1968, though a third courthouse had been built in 1950. Lubbock County is a county located in the U.S. state of Texas. The 2020 census placed the population at 310,639. [1] Its county seat and largest city is Lubbock. [2]
The first courthouse in the county was designed by Gill, Woodward & Gill, and was completed it 1891. The courthouse was described as being Italianate in design, however a windstorm in 1895 destroyed many of the ornate features.
