It was first released on CD in 1998 on Southern Lord Records and Bad Acid Records. Bad Acid released the European digipack version of which only 2000 were made. Southern Lord handled the American release of which there were effectively three presses. The first pressing's cover was incorrectly printed so it was repressed.

Crippled Lucifer, a compilation CD of the two EPs, was released soon after on Southern Lord Records, the label founded by Anderson and O'Malley.Burning Witch performed their last shows in the fall of 1998 after which Edgy 59 left for Sinisstar, O'Malley reunited with Anderson to form Sunn O))), and Dahlquist joined Anderson in Goatsnake.
Later that year Goatsnake released a split album with Burning Witch on Hydra Head Records. They also released the Dog Days EP on Anderson's Southern Lord Records that same year. They went on to release their second album, Flower of Disease on Man's Ruin Records/Rise Above Records.

Seraina Telli (born 17 April 1990) is a Swiss singer, songwriter and multi-instrumentalist in the rock, hard rock, heavy metal and progressive rock genres. She was the female vocalist of Rizon from 2010 to 2014, and the lead vocalist of Surrillum (2011–2017) and Burning Witches (2015–2019).
Burning the Witches is the debut studio album by the German heavy metal band Warlock, released in 1984 through the Belgian independent label Mausoleum Records. The album was re-released in late 1984 by Vertigo Records , which went on to release all future Warlock albums.
