Roopun is a holder of a master's degree in international business law (LLM) from the University of Central Lancashire. Since 1989 and for over fifteen years, Roopun has been a member of the board of examiner of the Council of Legal Education. He also lectured at the Faculty of Law of the University of Mauritius.
