Silverstein (/ ˈ s ɪ l. v ər. s t iː n /) is a Canadian post-hardcore band from Burlington, Ontario, formed in 2000. Their band name is a reference to the famous children's author Shel Silverstein , who the band had admired and whose work they had read as children. [ 1 ]

Transitions is the band's first release with their new label, Hopeless. Vocalist Shane Told has always been a long-time fan of the label and the albums they release. [ 1 ] Prior to the announcement of the EP, Told had stated in interviews that the band had already written 16 songs for a new album, much more than the average Silverstein album. [ 3 ]
On March 23, 2023, Silverstein announced Misery Made Me Deluxe, an extended version of the album which was released on April 7. [11] The deluxe edition features live performances and remixes of songs from the standard album, as well as new single "Poison Pill", one of two previously unheard tracks from the original recording sessions.
