Spider-Man 2099 is a superhero appearing in American comic books published by Marvel Comics.The character was created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi in 1992 for the Marvel 2099 comic book line, and he is a futuristic re-imagining of the original Spider-Man created by Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.

The initial universe began with Spider-Man 2099, Ravage 2099, Doom 2099, and Punisher 2099 being launched in subsequent months. Peter David wrote Spider-Man for the bulk of the series, and it was consistently the most popular series.
When Spider-Man 2099 attempts to return to his own time after the events of Spider-Verse, he ends up in a world accidentally devastated by Alchemax and ruled by the Maestro who mistakes Miguel for the original Spider-Man. The Maestro beats Miguel into submission and places him in a cell with Strange 2099. [15]
The Earth-928 version of Alchemax first appeared in Spider-Man 2099 #1 and was created by Peter David and Rick Leonardi. The Earth-616 version of Alchemax first appeared in The Superior Spider-Man #19 and was created by Dan Slott and Ryan Stegman.
Instead of becoming a company-owned version of Spider-Man he became the opposite, a Spider-Man to fight Alchemax and the other large corporations ruling the world in 2099.
