The Classic Learning Test (or CLT) is a standardized test developed by Classic Learning Initiatives in 2015. The company is based in Annapolis, Maryland , and its CEO is Jeremy Tate. [ 1 ] Designed as an alternative to other standardized tests such as the SAT and ACT , [ 2 ] the test assesses reading, grammar, writing, and mathematics.
The Louisiana Educational Assessment Program (LEAP) is a criterion-reference testing program administered by the state of Louisiana.It is administered to all students from 3rd grade through 8th grade in the subjects of ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies.
Alabama requires the Stanford Achievement Test Series; and in Texas, the Texas Higher Education Assessment. That state has discontinued its usage of the Texas Assessment of Academic Skills . Since the 2007–08 school year, Kentucky has required that all students at public high schools take the ACT in their junior year.
The test formats are relatively the same compared to the TAKS test in 3-8 grade, however in 9-11th grade end of course tests will be taken to supplement the normal tests taken while the TAKS was still in effect. The STAAR end-of-course assessments are, in their respective order: English I, II; Algebra I; Biology; U.S. History
The test itself will contain a set amount of questions, and will have different resources provided within the test, depending on the subject. In an English standardized test, there will usually be multiple passages, and a few open response questions. There is also an answer eliminator for multiple-choice questions.
