Franklin Road Academy (FRA) is a private co-educational Christian school for students in pre-kindergarten through grade 12 located in Oak Hill, Tennessee. [3] The school was founded in 1971 and originally affiliated with the First Christian Church before it became a separate incorporated organization in 1982.
It began with a faculty and staff of 11 and with 124 children in grades K-6. The academy doubled in size the next year, and has experienced continued growth, adding grades and classes to develop a comprehensive preschool-12 program. Metro Nashville Public Schools, or MNPS, is a school district that serves the city of Nashville, Tennessee and Davidson County. [2] As of the 2020–21 school year more than 80,000 students were enrolled in the district's 162 schools.
LEAD Academy High School serves grades 9-12. LEAD's first graduating class will graduate in May 2014. Brick Church College Prep serves grades 5-8. Maplewood High School opened its doors in 1956 to a community that had a long-standing desire for a school. The school faces Maplewood Lane from which it derived its name. It sits on land once owned by Jere Baxter (1852–1904), a prominent Nashvillian who was both a strong supporter of public education and an entrepreneur.
