As for the store hours increasing, I think it is safe to say in this age of 24 hour grocery stores, let alone 24 hour corner stores that the hours of sale would go up. After all why would a corner store or grocery store cut hours if they started selling liquor? Liquor Stores close at 9pm in Ontario for nanny state reasons, not business reasons.
