  2. Swashplate - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swashplate

By varying the angle of the swashplate, the pistons' stroke (and, therefore, the compressor's cooling capacity) can be dynamically adjusted. A helicopter swashplate is a pair of plates, one rotating and one fixed, that are centered on the main rotor shaft. The rotating plate is linked to the rotor head, and the fixed plate is linked to the ...

  3. Swashplate (aeronautics) - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swashplate_(aeronautics)

In aeronautics, a swashplate is a mechanical device that translates input via the helicopter flight controls into motion of the main rotor blades. Because the main rotor blades are spinning, the swashplate is used to transmit three of the pilot's commands from the non-rotating fuselage to the rotating rotor hub and mainblades.

  4. AN/APG-81 - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/AN/APG-81

The AN/APG-81 is an active electronically scanned array (AESA) fire-control radar system designed by Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems (formerly Westinghouse Electronic Systems) for the Lockheed Martin F-35 Lightning II.

  5. Side looking airborne radar - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Side_looking_airborne_radar

The radar "looks" with the looking angle θ (or so called off-nadir angle). The angle α between x-axis and the line of sight (LOS) is called cone angle, the angle φ between the x-axis and the projection of the line of sight to the (x; y)-plane is called azimuth angle. Cone- and azimuth angle are related by cosα = cosφ ∙ cosε.

  6. Phase lag (rotorcraft) - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Phase_lag_(rotorcraft)

Phase lag is not to be confused with advance angle, which refers to the mechanically fixed angle between the pitch link attachments at the blade and the swashplate. Advance angle is fixed and cannot vary.

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Talk:Swashplate_(aeronautics)

For instance, Kaman Aircraft helicopters do not use a traditional swashplate and instead operate servo flaps on the rotor blades to adjust the angle of attack of the blades. Unfortunately, the link for "servo flaps" leads to an article about fixed -wing flaps; I can't find anything there about flaps on rotor blades.

  9. Japanese 32 cm torpedo - Wikipedia

    en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Japanese_32_cm_torpedo

Side-scan sonar and magnetometric sensors for proximity detection of submarines and decoys have been added. Torpedo agility and maneuverability are also improved. The Type 12 has approximately 38% parts commonality with the Type 97; plans are in effect to use parts from decommissioned Type 97 units to construct new Type 12 units.
