Copperas Cove (/ ˈ k ɒ p ər ə s / KOP-ər-əs) is a city located in central Texas at the southern corner of Coryell County with smaller portions in Lampasas and Bell counties. Founded in 1879 as a small ranching and farming community, today the city is the largest in Coryell County, with 36,670 at 2020 .
Leaving its concurrency with US 180, FM 3099 continues to run north, passing near Hubbard Creek Reservoir before ending at Hubbard Creek Dam Road near the Hubbard Creek Reservoir Dam. FM 3099 in Breckenridge south of US 180 is known locally as City Pool Road. FM 3099 was designated on November 25, 1975, from Hubbard Creek Dam Road south to US 180.
Continuing eastward, the road intersects northbound FM 1113 and begins to enter the commercial district of Copperas Cove. The road continues due east past the town's center until it merges with I-14, US 190, and State Highway 9 (SH 9).
I-14 currently begins just east of Copperas Cove at the US 190 and Business US 190 interchange. From there, it continues eastward concurrently with US 190 for just over 25 miles (40 km) before terminating at I-35 in Belton.
