Started as a fifty bedded hospital and single OPD, in a military hospital, has grown to more than 1400 beds and planning to expand over few years more rapidly. Currently with 300 senior staff members and 550 postgraduate students, it takes care of around 16 lakhs OPD patients and more than 60000 admissions per year.
Currently, the Government Medical College, Baramati provides training to about 100 students in undergraduate medical courses. The college has five floors and parking space. The General Hospital has 21 wards and 13 operation theatres and has P+G+6 floors. [4] The college and the general hospital are funded by the Government of Maharashtra.
Topiwala National Medical College undertakes education and training of students in MBBS & post graduate courses. This college also has permission to grant post graduate degrees in different clinical & non-clinical disciplines.
