The average household size was 2.67 and the average family size was 3.44. In the town, the population was spread out, with 30.0% under the age of 18, 11.7% from 18 to 24, 29.6% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 9.2% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 31 years. For every 100 females, there were 112.4 males.
Grover is a large town - six miles by twelve. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 71.4 square miles (184.8 km 2), of which, 70.7 square miles (183.0 km 2) of it is land and 0.7 square miles (1.8 km 2) of it (0.99%) is water. Much of Grover is hilly with little glacial lakes.
Birch Creek is in northern Chippewa County, bordered to the north by Rusk County.The Chippewa River forms the eastern border of the town. According to the United States Census Bureau, the town has a total area of 46.6 square miles (120.8 km 2), of which 44.5 square miles (115.3 km 2) is land and 2.1 square miles (5.5 km 2), or 4.55%, is water.
