Rohtak (Hindustani pronunciation: [roɦ.t̪ək] ⓘ) is a city and the administrative headquarters of the Rohtak district in the Indian state of Haryana. It lies 70 kilometres (43 mi) north-west of New Delhi and 250 kilometres (160 mi) south of the state capital Chandigarh on NH 9 (old NH 10).
Rohtak Junction is the major railway station in Rohtak district. It is also a railway junction and is connected by railway to Delhi, Chandigarh via Gohana, Jind, Bhiwani, and Rewari vai Jhajjar. In the railway budget of 2012-13, the government of India approved a direct railway line connection between Rohtak and Hansi, via its Meham tehsil.
Rohtak is one of the 10 Lok Sabha (parliamentary) constituencies in the Indian state of Haryana. This constituency covers the entire Rohtak and Jhajjar districts and part of Rewari district . Members of Parliament from Rohtak Lok Sabha Constituency
