Ne Zha 2 (simplified Chinese: 哪吒之魔童闹海; traditional Chinese: 哪吒之魔童鬧海; pinyin: Nézhā zhī Mótóng Nàohǎi; also simply 哪吒2; Nézhā Èr [3]), also spelled Nezha 2, is a 2025 Chinese animated film.
New Gods: Nezha Reborn expands on the original story of Nezha from the Ming Dynasty novel Investiture of the Gods. It was directed by Zhao Ji and produced by Light Chaser Animation Studios, and it took four years to produce. Zhao Ji and Light Chaser previously collaborated on the 2019 film White Snake, which features some of the same cast and crew.
Chen Hao as Li Jing, Nezha's father and the chief who governs Chentangguan. He becomes a noble father willing to sacrifice his own life to rescue his son Nezha; Lü Qi as Lady Yin, Nezha's mother and the chieftess who also governs Chentangguan. Zhang Jiaming as Taiyi Zhenren, Nezha's master, a Taoist immortal who lives on the Kunlun.
The revised story tells the tale of young god Nezha who is reborn as Li Yunxiang, a young daredevil delivery courier, some 3,000 years after the story’s original setting and the Battle of the Gods.

New Gods: Yang Jian is a Chinese 3D animated fantasy action film directed by Zhao Ji and written by Mu Chuan. The film is based on the character of Yang Jian from the Ming dynasty novel Investiture of the Gods, [2] and was released on August 19, 2022, as a prequel to the 2021 film, New Gods: Nezha Reborn.
Nezha has frequently appeared in Chinese mythology and ancient Chinese literature such as Fengshen Yanyi (or Investiture of the Gods), although the story of Nezha Conquering the Sea is the most well known among Chinese households. In Journey to the West, Nezha was a general under his father, "Pagoda-wielding Heavenly King" Li Jing.
