In June 2008, the WFTDA Rules Committee created a Question and Answer forum to "provide definitive and final answers about the Women's Flat Track Derby Association Standard Rules. Version Two of the WFTDA Flat Track Derby Standardized Rules for Interleague Play was announced as forthcoming in mid-2006.
In November 2008, Rose City and Rat City Rollergirls (Seattle) co-hosted the Northwest Knockdown national championships at the Portland Expo Center. [5] Rose City hosted the 2011 WFTDA Western Regional Tournament , the "Bridgetown Brawl", at the Memorial Coliseum in Portland, in which they placed third overall.
From 2008, the WFTDA changed from having just two regional tournaments (East and West), to five, made up of teams from four regions: East, North Central, South Central and West. [2] For 2011, the region was reduced in size, with teams in New Mexico moving to the South Central Region. [3]

The trophy was conceived and designed and commissioned by the Windy City Rollers in early 2010, in recognition of a strong intercity rivalry. The two teams' All-Star squads met in the WFTDA East Region finals in both 2007 and 2008, and in the finals of the WFTDA Championship in 2008.
