State Route 449 (SR 449) is a 6.2-mile-long (10.0 km) north–south state highway in Sevier County, within the eastern part of the U.S. state of Tennessee.It travels from US 411 (Dolly Parton Parkway) overlaying Veterans Boulevard and some of Middle Creek Road in Sevierville south to US 441/US 321 in Pigeon Forge.

Dollywood extended its hours and added a nightly fireworks show. Smoky Mountain Christmas added a new show that was Dolly Parton's version of Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol. Dollywood's slogan for the year was "Make Time for Happy!" Imagination Cinema became Dreamsong Theater and played Dolly's My People, a show about Dolly's family.

Opened in May 2001 in Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, Dolly's Splash Country is an addition to the Dollywood Company's theme park. The park is built into the natural terrain of a 25-acre mountainous area adjacent to the main Dollywood theme park. The park was a $20 million investment ($34.4 million in 2023 dollars [3]) by the Dollywood Company.
According to Dollywood, the trains are sanded down and repainted every year, the running boards are replaced, brake systems are overhauled and other basic repairs are made where necessary. The train repair crew even contours the wheels if needed to ensure that patrons of the attraction can have a smooth, bump free ride.
The steel track for Big Bear Mountain encompasses 6 acres (2.4 ha) of land, [7] with the track length totaling 3,990 feet (1,220 m), the longest in Dollywood, and the height of the roller coaster is 66 feet (20 m).
