BTS (Korean: 방탄소년단; RR: Bangtan Sonyeondan; lit. Bulletproof Boy Scouts), also known as the Bangtan Boys, is a South Korean boy band formed in 2010. The band consists of Jin, Suga, J-Hope, RM, Jimin, V, and Jungkook, who co-write or co-produce much of their material.
South Korean rapper, songwriter and record producer RM (formerly Rap Monster) is best known as the leader of South Korean boy band BTS. He has written and composed much of the band's output since their debut in 2013, often alongside bandmates J-Hope and Suga .
Outside of his BTS-related work, the rapper released his first mixtape RM in 2015, under his then-stagename Rap Monster. Three music videos were produced for the tracks "Awakening", "Do You", and "Joke" respectively. The mixtape was never released commercially or made available on streaming platforms.
Under BTS' name, Suga has released two solo songs. The first was an autobiographical track titled "First Love", that appeared on the band's 2016 studio album Wings. Reminiscent of a monologue, the song is a rap serenade to Suga's childhood piano that personifies his relationship with the instrument as if addressing a friend. [20]
