The McCart Fire Lookout, near Sula, Montana, was built in 1939.It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1996. [1]It is an L-4 Fire Lookout, located at 7,115 feet (2,169 m) elevation, about 4 miles (6.4 km) south of the East Fork Forest Service Station in Bitterroot National Forest.

The Heaven's Peak Fire Lookout is a historic fire lookout post located in Glacier National Park, Montana, USA. It is significant as one of a chain of staffed fire lookout posts within the park. The one-story timber-construction with a flat roof was built in 1945. The flat, overhanging roof is anchored to the stone foundation with cables. [2]
In the 1930s, over 600 fire lookouts were built in Washington. Less than 100 remain.
The lookout was staffed each summer from 1923 until approximately 1946. Hornet Lookout represents a relatively short-lived architectural style of fire lookouts designed, constructed, and used in the US Forest Service Region 1. Hornet Lookout was constructed by US Forest Service seasonal employees at a cost of $719.38.
