Obituaries. A celebration of life is scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday, July 6, in the Hermosa Church of Christ Fireside Room for Linda Ruth Calvert of Artesia. Calvert, 87, passed away peacefully Sunday, June 23, 2024, at her home, surrounded by loved ones. Scott Scroggin will officiate the services.
Recovery efforts continue in Roswell after floods. City of Roswell spokesman Todd Wildermuth said officials were working to clean up debris and assessing damage to city buildings in the wake of a massive flood that turned fatal after record-breaking rainfall drenched the city over the weekend.
