Use m.twitch instead of regular and use firefox w/ ublock or abp. works like a charm. I have used all the extensions and scripts people mention below for years. As of the last few days, it appears twitch updated their anti adblock so though these do block ads, the stream stays black forever.
AdGuard is a company with over 12 years of experience in ad blocking and privacy protection mostly known for AdGuard ad blocker, AdGuard VPN, and AdGuard DNS. More than 150 million people have already chosen AdGuard.
Try clearing all cookies , then when it asks about them on twitch, deny them all. That seemed to work for me here in Sweden, no ads at all. I think its connected to the ad targeting cookies. When you deny them I assume it cant figure out what to show you, so it defaults to nothing, like in my case. Give it a shot.
Twitch is just plain abusive with the ads, I cant channel browse without waiting 2 mins between each one what a good way to drive off viewers trying to discover new streams. I would be more understanding if most of the ad money went to the streamer, but let me guess they dont get enough if any of it.
Because Twitch updates their ads every 5 days to try and combat adblockers. Until we have a permanent sticky on this sub, this question will be asked every time Twitch rolls out new anti-adblockers. Also worth noting the search function is atrocious.
The normal adblockers don't block video ads on Twitch. Twitch™ Adblock Plus, available for Edge and Chrome (but not Firefox) is the only one I found that really works. TTV LOL Pro + UBlock Vaft (from the Twitch Ad Solutions GitHub) works well for me. Some still get through occasionally, but 95% of the time I don't see any. Don't have the buffering problem either. Edit: Nevermind I'm getting buffering issues now, wasn't the other day. Rip.
I'll tell you my exact set-up just in case it working has to do with something not mentioned here. I have uBlock, Purple Ads Blocker, TTV LOL, and Twitch Adblock installed on Firefox (Mac), I have the Twitch Adblock proxy set to TTV LOL and quality set to 1080p. I removed "twitch.tv##+js(twitch-videoad)" from my uBlock filters.
I launched a Twitch Ad Blocker on the Edge store. Hi guys, My name is Abel Harriman and I am a technical developer. A while ago I launched an Addon, a tool for blocking Twitch ads. As a big Twitch user, I've been fed up with popping ads a long time ago, and now my partner and I are in talks to create some Microsoft Addons, which took us over a ...
Blocking Twitch Ads. So there's been two methods of blocking ads on Twitch. There's a browser extension, or you can manually add a script to ublock. They both do the same thing, replace the stream with the 480p feed during ads and then switch back to the source resolution when the ad ends. This worked fine for awhile.
