Minot Public Schools logo. Minot Public Schools (MPS) is a system of publicly funded K-12 schools in Minot, North Dakota. There are thirteen elementary schools, four middle schools, two high schools, and one alternative high school. Three schools (two elementary & one middle school) are located on Minot AFB, fifteen miles north.
Previously, MHS was divided between two main campuses: Magic City (1974, grades 11–12) and Central (1918, grades 9–10). Its enrollment was among the largest in the state, drawing from the entire city and the air base. Magic City is now Minot High School (9–12) and Central is the district's fourth middle school.
In January 2007, the number of school districts had declined to 195, and these districts had a total of 95,600 students. The eight largest school districts, which had 48,900 of those students, had their combined enrollment decline by 8% from 1998-1999 to 2006-2007.
There is one provider of public education in the State of Hawaii, the Hawaii Department of Education (HIDOE), dependent on the Hawaiian state government. The word "school districts" in Hawaii is instead used to refer to internal divisions within HIDOE, and the U.S. Census Bureau does not count these as local governments.

Ward County is a county in the U.S. state of North Dakota. As of the 2020 census, the population was 69,919, [1] making it the fourth most populous county in North Dakota. Its county seat is Minot. [2] Ward County is part of the Minot, ND Micropolitan Statistical Area.
Carpio is a city in Ward County, North Dakota, United States. The population was 144 at the 2020 census. [3] It is part of the Minot Micropolitan Statistical Area. Carpio was founded in 1898. It is commonly believed that the town was named after the first post office which operated out of a railcar - hence 'Car P.O.'. [5]
