That's awesome. And makes perfect sense. I live on a river in the midwest, so I get to see both birds pretty commonly. I could pick a red tailed hawk call out pretty easily, but if you asked me to tell you what a bald eagle sounds like, I wouldn't have the slightest til just now.
They use that hawk's sound in movies because it sounds cool. They use it for a TON of birds including bald eagles which have more of a whistle sound which sounds like this. The whistle is accurate, but when you want a bald eagle in a movie swooping in and representing the mighty U.S. of A. the whistle is not so threatening, so movie makers add ...
Hawk sounds outside of petsmart year round? Every single time I go to petsmart I hear squawking with a red tailed hawk sound mixed in every once in a while. Doesn’t matter the time of year or time of day.
In some dictionaries, “Falcon ” is translated as [隼 (はやぶさ)] but there’s almost no difference. I used "Falcon" from the great name of the “Millennium Falcon" ship in Star Wars. While President Hawk sounds cute in an action movie setting, it isn't really a dignified name for an adult. Totally agree about the cool guy name- but I think it sounds like a cool guy nickname for a teenage skater/BMXer or something.
This bird just showed up last 2 days, imitates hawk sounds and scares other birds away, plus normal bird sounds! NW Montana Any thoughts, blackish head, dark bluish toward bottom and feathers.
Taka no Dan no Farukon sounds cooler than Taka no Dan no Taka, that's for sure. But that doesn't quite translate into English. Like it being the Band of the Hawk, but then Griffith is called the Falcon. Even if it doesn't completely make sense at first it's kind of cool, like the company as a whole is swift and deadly like a hawk, but then he's ...
We have a lot of red-tailed hawks where I live (very few bald eagles). I hear the hawk's call sound frequently. I've actually had the opportunity to rescue a young red-tail hawk that had been injured. He didn't scream for me - he just made "I'm really hurt" hissing noises for a while.
