Universal Studios Japan (ユニバーサル・スタジオ・ジャパン) is a theme park located in Osaka, Japan. After almost three years of construction, Universal Studios Japan opened on March 31, 2001, in the Konohana-ku district of Osaka, Japan, and was the first Universal Studios theme park to open outside of the U.S. It was also the first Universal theme park to operate within the Asian region.
In 2001, Universal Studios Japan debuted a version the show, titled Universal Monsters Live Rock and Roll Show, based on the 1995 Hollywood version. [3] It plays in the Hollywood section of the park. In 2002, Universal Studios Florida modified their show to be more like the 1995 Hollywood and 2001 Japan versions.
In March 2009, Universal Studios Japan announced that they would be closing E.T. Adventure on May 10, 2009. [1] Following the ride's closure in May, the ride system was removed with Universal Studios Japan temporarily reopening the attraction as a walkthrough attraction for five days from July 18, 2009.
