The Barnesville-Lamar County Chamber of Commerce hosts three annual festivals each year. The BBQ & Blues Festival is held the last weekend in April and features an FBA(Florida Barbeque Association) certified cooking competition, food vendors, arts and crafts vendors, and live entertainment throughout the weekend.

Lamar County is a county in the West Central region the U.S. state of Georgia. As of the 2020 census , the population was 18,500. [ 1 ] The county seat is Barnesville .
Lamar County Courthouse is located on Thomaston Street in Barnesville, Georgia. The county courthouse was designed by Eugene C. Wachendorff and built in 1931. [ 2 ] It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on September 18, 1980.

Redbone Community House is a historic clubhouse building in Barnesville, Georgia. It was added to the National Register of Historic Places on April 9, 1998. It is located at Community House Road at the junction with Sappington Road.
Benjamin Gachet was a French nobleman who fled from a revolution in San Domingo and settled in what is now Lamar County. A historical marker dedicated by the Lamar-LaFayette Chapter of N.S.D.A.R. is at the site, [2] stating that General Marquis de LaFayette stayed with Gachet at the home on March 19, 1825, during an official visit to Georgia.
