North Carolina Science Olympiad (NCSO) is a nonprofit organization [1] with the mission to attract and retain the pool of K–12 students entering science, technology, engineering, and mathematics degrees and careers in North Carolina.

The Raleigh Charter Science Olympiad team first appeared at the national tournament in 2004, after winning the North Carolina state championship.
