The Hellenic Radio (Greek: Ελληνική Ραδιοφωνία; or ERA) is the main public radio broadcaster in Greece. Founded in 1987 as a subsidiary of public broadcaster Hellenic Broadcasting Corporation (ERT), it broadcasts four domestic radio channels and the international shortwave radio channel Voice of Greece .

On June 11, 2013, the government decided to close the ERT. However, after ERT closed, the ERA 1 and some other stations owned by ERT still remain online, controlled by then-former ERT employees via ERT Open. The name "First Program" continues to be used by the first radio station under the new state broadcaster, NERIT.
The Second Programme originated on May 11, 1952 as a result of an attempt at an alternative music and entertainment program, to the First Programme. It was originally broadcast on 666 kHz, later on 93.6 MHz FM, and still later carried on Kosmos 93.6. The station program focused, from the outset, on Greek music but also on theatre performances.
