Choctaw Nation Headquarters The historic Choctaw Capitol in Tuskahoma, now a tribal museum. The Tribal Headquarters are located in Durant, and house the office of the Chief. Opened in June 2018, the new headquarters is a 5-story, 500,000 square foot building located on an 80-acre campus in south Durant.
A United States Post Office operated here as Council House, Indian Territory from February 6, 1872, to June 30, 1880. Postal operations were later carried on at nearby Lyceum, site of the Choctaw girls’ academy, and Tuskahoma.
