YuYu Hakusho (Japanese: 幽☆遊☆白書, Hepburn: Yū Yū Hakusho) is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Yoshihiro Togashi. It tells the story of Yusuke Urameshi , a teenage delinquent who is struck and killed by a car while saving a child's life.
Yu Yu Hakusho was then removed from Toonami's listings until January 2004, when re-runs of the old episodes were shown. [1] New episodes began airing in May 2004, with the last episodes of the saga shown in July 2004. Four pieces of theme music are used for the episodes; one opening theme and three closing themes.
The manga consists of 19 tankōbon volumes; the first tankōbon was released on April 10, 1991, and the last one was released on December 2, 1994. [1] [2] An anime adaptation of the series of 112 television episodes was directed by Noriyuki Abe and co-produced by Fuji TV, Yomiko Advertising, and Studio Pierrot.
The season adapts Yoshihiro Togashi's Yu Yu Hakusho manga from the first through sixth volumes over twenty-five episodes. The episodes follow the story of Yusuke Urameshi, a teenage boy who dies in an accident, and is resurrected as a Spirit Detective, Spirit World's protector of the Living World against demons and other supernatural threats.
