Tyao River [1] (or Tiau River, [2] Tio River) is a 159 km (99 mi) long river that flows between the Mizoram state in India and the Chin State in Myanmar, forming part of the international boundary between the two countries. [2] It rises near Khuangphah village of Champhai district in Mizoram, India.

The last 10 km of this course forms the international boundary of Manipur with Myanmar (Chin State's western border). [3] Then the river makes a third 90-degree degree bend to turn west. At this bend, it receives the Tuisa River from the south, which also marks the boundary between Mizoram and Chin State for 28 km.
