Geneva General Hospital [1] [2] is a 132-bed hospital [3] [4] in upstate New York with additional outpatient services via clinics. It was founded in 1898 and also operates two nursing homes and a nursing school; the latter's program offers a two-year A.S. (Associate degree in Science) .

The hospital was named Lovell General Hospital after Joseph Lovell, who served as the Surgeon General of the United States Army from 1818 to 1836. The hospital was also known as Portsmouth Grove Hospital. The hospital was closed on August 25, 1865. [4] In time, all the buildings of the hospital were either dismantled or removed.
