Newtown Public Schools is a school district in Fairfield County, Connecticut, United States. As of 2013 [update] it contained seven schools, with a total enrollment of 5298, [ 3 ] an increase of 1663 since 1994. [ 4 ]
The Newpark campus covers 100,543m² (25 acres). The school was centred on a purpose-built prefab-style block, opened in 1974, but also used two large houses, "Melfield" and "Belfort" (Referred to as the Red-Brick by students), a purpose-built extension to Belfort (The D/F Building), a gate lodge and other ancillary rooms.
In the school year 2022-2023, the district provided basic educational services to 4143 pupils with 300 teachers, 395 other staff, and 19.5 administrators. Council Rock High School North is a high school located in Newtown, Pennsylvania. It is a part of the Council Rock School District. The school is located across from Newtown Middle School and Tyler State Park, and near Bucks County Community College. The current student population is 1,588 for grades 9–12. [3]
This designation was largely due to Newtown's historic clock tower. Newtown is enhanced by unique boutiques, colleges, cuisine, a climate for industry, Pennsylvania's most popular state park (Tyler State Park) and a Heritage Walk that traces the very steps of George Washington. The Law School Admission Council is headquartered in Newtown Township.
Prominent Newtown parks include Treadwell Park, Dickinson Park, and Collis P. Huntington State Park. Treadwell Park, named after former selectman Timothy Treadwell, contains recreation facilities and the town pool. Dickinson park used to contain a swimming pool, which was a large asphalt-lined bowl-shaped depression surrounded by a grass "beach".
The school district operates sixteen schools in total: ten elementary schools (grades K-6), two middle schools (grades 7-8), two high schools (grades 9-12), and one alternative high school. Council Rock is also one of four school districts participating with the Middle Bucks Institute of Technology located in Jamison, Pennsylvania .
The WCASD consists of eleven elementary schools, three middle schools, and three high schools, as of the fall 2022 school year. Elementary schools include grades 1-5, middle schools grades 6-8, and high schools grades 9-12. Its headquarters are in West Whiteland Township, near the Exton census-designated place. [3] [4]
