The Telefunken Kompass Sender was one of the earliest radio navigation systems to be deployed. It was developed in 1907 [ 1 ] p.141 by the German electronics firm Telefunken . [ 2 ] It was used primarily for long-distance navigation by Zeppelins , and was taken out of service around 1918.
