Nash County rests in the northeastern part of North Carolina [4] along the dividing line between the Peidmont and Coastal Plain regions. [3] According to the U.S. Census Bureau, the county has a total area of 542.82 square miles (1,405.9 km 2), of which 540.44 square miles (1,399.7 km 2) is land and 2.38 square miles (6.2 km 2) (0.44%) is covered by water. Evans Family moved from Edgecombe County, N.C. through Nash County, N.C. to Pine Level in Johnston County, N.C. in 1850 A.D. and started a farm which eventually through land purchases became the 6,000 acre Tall Pines Plantation, Founded in 1870 A.D. by Jane Barns Evans widow of J.A.
