Knott County is a county located in the U.S. state of Kentucky. As of the 2020 census, the population was 14,251. [1] Its county seat is Hindman. [2] The county was formed in 1884 and is named for James Proctor Knott, Governor of Kentucky (1883–1887). [3] As of 2024 the county is now wet.
