It was the 50th edition of the men's event and 35th of the women's event and was classified as an ATP Tour Masters 1000 event on the 2024 ATP Tour and a WTA 1000 event on the 2024 WTA Tour.
Defending champion Carlos Alcaraz [1] defeated Daniil Medvedev in a rematch of the previous year's final, 7–6 (7–5), 6–1 to win the men's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. [2] It was his fifth ATP Masters 1000 and 13th career ATP Tour title.
Iga Świątek defeated Maria Sakkari in the final, 6–4, 6–0 to win the women's singles tennis title at the 2024 Indian Wells Open. [1] [2] It was her eighth WTA 1000 and 19th career WTA Tour title, and she did not lose a set en route.
