The Prince Sultan bin Abdulaziz International Prize for Water (PSIPW) is a Saudi Arabian scientific prize, established on 21 October 2002 by Prince Sultan Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. [ 1 ] [ 2 ] The Prize has its headquarters at the Prince Sultan Research Center for Environment, Water and Desert (PSRCEWD) at King Saud University .
The total prize money is $29.5 million. [39] [40] In March 2024, the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H) partnered with DARPA, contributing an additional $20 million to the competition's prize pool to address software vulnerabilities in medical devices, hospital IT, and biotech equipment. As of 2020, the award for the university securing first position comprises "a rolling MAKA trophy and a cash prize of ₹ 15 lakh (US$18,000)". The second- and third-place universities receive cash prizes of ₹ 7.5 lakh (US$8,800) and ₹ 4.5 lakh (US$5,300) respectively.
