FAR EASTERN MANUFACTURERS refer to metric nuts by class, the Eurpean market refers to them by grade ie class 8 is grade 8. in practice class 6 are supplied into Europe marked 8 this unusuall situation does not appear to be an issue and the failure of class 6 nuts on 8.8 bolts again does not appear to be an issue!

Each grade is determined by analyzing the scan reflectance profile (SRP), an analog graph of a single scan line across the entire symbol.
