Toledo (/ t ə ˈ l ɛ d oʊ / tə-LED-oh), officially the City of Toledo (Cebuano: Dakbayan sa Toledo; Filipino: Lungsod ng Toledo), is a component city in the province of Cebu, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 207,314 people. [3] On June 18, 1960, Toledo became a chartered city under Republic Act No. 2688. [5]
Toledo City is politically subdivided into 38 barangays. [1]The city is part of the 3rd legislative district of the Province of Cebu.. As of 2015, 12 barangays are classified as urban barangays where 90,114 (52.90%) of Toledo City's population lives, while the remaining 26 rural barangays are home to 80,221 residents, representing 47.10% of the total population.
The district consists of the city of Toledo and adjacent western municipalities of Aloguinsan, Asturias, Balamban, Barili, Pinamungajan and Tuburan since 1987. It is currently represented in the 19th Congress by Pablo John Garcia of the National Unity Party (NUP) and One Cebu (1-Cebu). [4]
