Maison Joseph-Gauvreau is a heritage building located in Rimouski, in the Bas-Saint-Laurent region of Quebec.Constructed in 1906 and 1907 for Dr. Joseph Gauvreau, this eclectic-style bourgeois home served as his principal residence, as well as housing his medical practice and hydrotherapy clinic, whose fame spread throughout Quebec.
The Bas-Saint-Laurent (French pronunciation: [ba sɛ̃ lɔʁɑ̃], "Lower Saint-Lawrence") is an administrative region of Quebec located along the south shore of the lower Saint Lawrence River in Quebec. The river widens at this place, later becoming a bay that discharges into the Atlantic Ocean and is often nicknamed "Bas-du-Fleuve" (Lower-River).

In 1674 it was designated as the Seigneury de Kamouraska, a constituent of the Gouvernement de Québec. There is a long tradition of eel fishing here. An interpretive centre on eel fishing is located in the village.
