Leaving the city, US 84 serves the towns of Post and Snyder before reaching Roscoe, where it begins its overlap with I-20. The two highways run through Sweetwater before reaching Abilene. US 84 leaves the interstate on the western side of the city, running with I-20's business loop.

North of Snyder, the highway's route becomes extremely rural and enters into Kent County. SH 208 crosses the Double Mountain Fork Brazos River then begins an overlap with US 380.
US 180, still in concurrence with US 62, reenters Texas between Hobbs, New Mexico and Seminole. In Seminole, the highways split, with US 62 joining U.S. Route 385 and travelling north to Seagraves and Brownfield. US 180 continues east, sharing a short overlap with U.S. Route 87 in Lamesa, before continuing east through the towns of Gail and Snyder.
SH 70 has one business route, Business SH 70-G in Sweetwater, which is a former alignment of the state highway through that city. The route was designated in 1990, when SH 70 was rerouted along the south and east side of the city to use the I-20 freeway. The business route is also concurrent with BL I-20 through downtown Sweetwater. [26] [27]

Snyder is located on Deep Creek, a minor tributary of the Colorado River of Texas. Snyder is about 90 miles (140 km) southeast of Lubbock, 80 miles (130 km) northwest of Abilene, 90 miles (140 km) northeast of Midland, and 100 miles (160 km) north of San Angelo.
