Moe (萌え, Japanese pronunciation: ⓘ), sometimes romanized as moé, is a Japanese word that refers to feelings of strong affection mainly towards characters in anime, manga, video games, and other media directed at the otaku market. Moe, however, has also gained usage to refer to feelings of affection towards any subject.

Suffixes are often gender-specific at the end of names, while prefixes are attached to the beginning of many nouns.
Moe is not a quality of "cuteness" etc. of a character, but a feeling towards a character. As in, "I feel moe about X," and all reliable sources say this. If nobody opposes this change, I shall make this change right now. Some may say that misappropriated Japanese words need to focus on the English usage of it more.
