The Hong Kong Brands and Products Expo originated in the 1930s when mainland China started to impose import tariffs, leading to Hong Kong manufacturers’ exports facing major setbacks. Amid their difficulty, they decided to explore the Southeast Asia market, and did so by joining the 1st Chinese Products Expo in Singapore in 1935.
The HKTDC Hong Kong Toys & Games Fair is the largest toy industry event in Asia and the second largest in the world. Organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC), it is held annually in January in Hong Kong, China, featuring over 2,000 international exhibitors and catering to the needs of buyers from around the world.

The Food Expo is organised by the Hong Kong Trade Development Council (HKTDC) and held at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Centre in August every year since 1989. The Expo includes a Trade Hall and a Public Hall. The Food Expo also includes a series of sessions in which food experts share their tips and cooking demonstrations by chefs.
Suppliers and manufacturers offer products and services for trade buyers from around the world. In 2009, the fair attracted 11,324 buyers from 108 countries and regions, 60% of whom were from overseas. The fair coincides with a peak sourcing season in Hong Kong and Guangdong, bringing thousands more buyers to the region.
