    Prior to the switch to unleaded there was afaict a star system used to rate the knock resistance of petrol in the UK. Afaict all grades except four star gradually dissapeared (and four star was eventually replaced by LRP) as unleaded (which wasn't rated on the star system) came in. Anyone got any further information on this system.
