The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) is the governing body for the Bangladeshi cricket team [385] and the sport in the country. The BCB is responsible for maintaining grounds and promoting the sport. It was founded in 1972 as the Bangladesh Cricket Control Board. [386] Its first constitution was drafted in 1976. [387]
In January 1977, the inaugural Bangladesh national cricket team was selected for a match against the touring MCC at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.
