Huron Island Light is a lighthouse on Lake Superior near Big Bay, Michigan. [ 2 ] [ 3 ] [ 4 ] It was listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Huron Islands Lighthouse in 1975. [ 1 ] It is on one of the Huron Islands Wilderness Archived 2011-06-11 at the Wayback Machine .
In December 2011, Carnival Spirit sailed to the Hawaiian Islands. This island is the site of the historic Huron Island Light, built in 1868. The lighthouse still operates, but is now fully automated. There is a walking path from the boat landing site on the south end of the island to the lighthouse. The path continues beyond the lighthouse to the structures and cliffs on the far north end of the island.

The light is still active and the grounds are an active Coast Guard facility, but it has recently been handed over to the Port Huron Museum. It is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Michigan. There is also a public beach and park on the property, known as Lighthouse Beach. It is across the river from Point Edward Front Range Light. [9]
