Bridgeport is a city in Wise County, Texas, United States. The population was 5,923 in 2020. [ 4 ] In 2009, Bridgeport was named by the Texas Legislature as the Stagecoach Capital of Texas.
There are two districts and 44 individual properties listed on the National Register in the county along with one formerly listed property. Five individually listed properties are Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks including one that is also a State Antiquities Landmark. One district contains several more Recorded Texas Historic Landmarks.
